The ALS Society of BC presented Pacific Blue Cross with the Exceptional Fundraising – Corporate Partner Award at their annual Volunteer Awards

The ALS Society of BC presented Pacific Blue Cross with the Exceptional Fundraising – Corporate Partner Award at their annual Volunteer Awards held on April 6, 2021. The award recognizes a significant sponsorship of a program or event in support of ALS Society of BC programs.

The Pacific Blue Cross Health Foundation, which provides funding to not-for-profit organizations who aim to improve the health and wellbeing for British Columbians, committed $100,000 over five years to support the PGA of BC Golfathon for ALS. Funding will run from 2020 to 2024.

Proceeds from the annual Golfathon are directed to the ALS Society’s Equipment Loan Program. This program is designed to enhance the quality of life for those living with ALS as well as alleviate the financial burden of the disease. In its 15-year history, the Golfathon has raised over $2.1 million.

“We’re tremendously honoured to receive this award from the ALS Society of BC,” says Jim Iker, Chairman of the Pacific Blue Cross Health Foundation Board. “At Pacific Blue Cross our mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of all British Columbians, which is why we’re happy to support organizations like the ALS Society of BC, who are making real and positive differences in the lives of people and families living with ALS in British Columbia. We look forward to continuing to support the ALS Society for years to come.”
