For the third year in a row, Pacific Blue Cross has been ranked BC’s #1 benefits provider by the Minerva Foundation for Women for the percentage of women in senior management. PBC was also ranked #2 in the Financial Services category, and scored in the Top 5 companies overall in British Columbia for percentage of women in senior executive management.

In 2015, Pacific Blue Cross president and CEO Jan K. Grude was among the original signatories of the Minerva Pledge for Diversity. Grude has since made good on his vision for diversity in leadership. Women currently represent half of the Pacific Blue Cross executive team and 60 percent of management.

Pacific Blue Cross vice-president of human resources Rob Chiarello is a member of the LGBTQ+ community in Vancouver. “We run this company as a team,” says Chiarello in a recent interview with the Vancouver Sun. “That includes hiring the best and brightest women in the province to work together toward that vision to ensure the work of our organization reflects those values.”

Close to 40 percent of Pacific Blue Cross management is represented by visible minorities. The organization has just launched an employee-led committee to identify opportunities to promote and celebrate its commitment to diversity at work and in the community.
