We are pleased to announce that Pacific Blue Cross will be this year’s inductee into the prestigious Burnaby Business Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame induction is a special honour bestowed jointly by the Burnaby Board of Trade (BBOT) and the City of Burnaby each year to a widely-recognized, Burnaby-based business that has demonstrated outstanding business success over many years and has had a positive and significant impact on the community.
“I am so pleased to be able to welcome Pacific Blue Cross into the Burnaby Business Hall of Fame,” says Paul Holden, President and CEO of the Burnaby Board of Trade. “Pacific Blue Cross has been proudly serving British Columbians for over 80 years. Their commitment to the improvement of the health and well-being of all British Columbians is something to be celebrated, and we are proud that they call Burnaby home.”
Together with CUPE 1816, the union representing nearly three-quarters of our 750-person workforce, we provide health, dental, life, disability, travel, and other health insurance products to over 1.65 million members that are enrolled in group and individual plans. Last year alone, we processed over 28 million claims with a total value of $1.5 billion from our head office in Burnaby, BC.
“Pacific Blue Cross and CUPE 1816 are proud to improve the health and wellbeing of 1 in 3 British Columbians from right here in Burnaby,” said John Crawford, President and CEO of Pacific Blue Cross. “On behalf of our entire team, I would like to thank the City of Burnaby and the Burnaby Board of Trade for placing Pacific Blue Cross in the Burnaby Business Hall of Fame.”
Pacific Blue Cross will be formally inducted at the sold-out 23rd Annual Burnaby Business Excellent Awards Gala on November 17th at the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown Hotel.
