Marty Gibbons newly elected as Vice-Chair

We are pleased to announce that Brendan Dick has been re-elected for a second term as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the PBC Health Benefits Society. Marty Gibbons has been elected as Vice Chair.

Brendan has been a Board Director since 2017 and a member of Pacific Blue Cross for close to 30 years. He is the former Director of Pensions and Benefits for the Hospital Employee’s Union and co-chair of the Canadian Blood Services defined benefit pension plan, where he has been a trustee since 2005. He also holds an Institute of Corporate Directors designation from the Rotman Directors Education Program. Brendan was first elected as Board Chair in 2019.

Marty has been a Board Director since 2018. He has spent close to two decades working in the field of employee group benefits, and has garnered multiple designations from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans as well as designations in risk management and workplace health and safety. He was elected as a School Trustee in School District 83 in 2018 and is president of USW Local 1-417. Marty is of Métis and Cree ancestry.
